Iriji is the Igbo New Yam Festival. It marks the end of the farming season and the point at which the first yams of the harvest may be eaten. Elders give thanks, bless the new yam and share it with the community before the celebration begins.

Registration is not a ticket, it helps us plan for numbers, seating and catering. Please register yourself and anyone coming with you on the Register page.
Admission arrangements are confirmed each year. Where entry is free it is made possible by sponsors, advertisers and donations from the community.
Yes. Iriji is a family day and children are part of the reason we hold it. Please keep children with a responsible adult at all times.

Volunteers help with setup, stewarding, the welcome desk, the children's area, media and clear down. Tell us your availability on the Volunteer page.
Yes. The ceremony and main stage are streamed so that family and friends who cannot travel can watch. The Live Stream page carries the player on the day.
